Patrick and Amanda celebrated their love on the beautiful Michigan lakeshore at Michillinda Lodge. As a Michigan Wedding Photographer, seeing pine trees line the road as you pull in, and it dead ends with the cliffside ceremony space overlooking Lake Michigan was nothing short of breathtaking. The weather was overcast and perfect conditions for photos. Amanda and her bridesmaids got ready in a cozy cabin on the property while the guys got ready in another cabin across the way. As they held out for a traditional first look, we were careful to sneak around the property without them seeing each other.
The Groom and his best men got ready in a cabin across the way. When it was time to get dressed one of the groomsmen realized his pants were missing SIX buttons. Never to fear, Aunt Karen was there! In a flash, the grooms aunt came to the rescue and quickly sewed the buttons into position. After getting some photos done and the wedding day jitters out, Patrick finished writing his vows and it was time to say “I Do”.
Tears flowed as the processional began as Patricks bride walked up the hill to meet her groom. Amanda’s brother officiated the ceremony which made it all the more special. After exchanging personal handwritten vows to each other they sealed it with a kiss and officially became Mr. & Mrs. McGettigan!
After the ceremony we breezed through bridal family photos and then the party began! The ceremony and reception space was all on the same property which made it really easy for guests to relax, unwind and have some fun! And Cake! and more pictures!
During the reception we slipped away for golden hour on the lakeshore.
We love seemingly pausing time for our couples to steal away with each other.
